Detailed itinerary
Day 1Arusha → Serengeti National Park
Enter or continue through Serengeti National Park, using the day's light for a proper game drive rather than treating the park as a transfer road. The central valleys and open plains support year-round resident wildlife, while seasonal herd movement can shift the best driving area. Your guide will decide when to stop for lunch based on sightings and distance to camp. Late afternoon is often especially good for cats becoming active again.
Day 2Serengeti game drive → Ngorongoro Highlands
Enjoy a final Serengeti or highland game drive before traveling toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The road itself can be productive, especially across the open plains near Naabi Hill. On arrival in the highlands, settle into your lodge or camp near the crater rim or Karatu. The evening is kept easy because the next morning normally starts early for the crater descent.
