Drive to a working spice farm and walk with a local guide through plots growing cloves, vanilla, cinnamon, cardamom, turmeric, tropical fruit and other crops. The experience is most useful when it stays practical: how plants grow, how they are harvested and how spices are used locally. Tastings depend on season. Return to Stone Town or your beach hotel afterward.
